Bubbles at the opening usually indicate a faulty core; bubbles around the rim indicate a different problem.
A core may fail because its tiny rubber seal has hardened, split, or become contaminated with dried sealant. The spring-loaded pin can also bend, especially if a pump head is attached at an angle. A valve that slowly releases air after the pump is removed is a common sign that the core is no longer closing correctly.

A core designed for a regular inner tube may physically fit, but it may not be the best choice for a tubeless setup if it has poor sealing quality or becomes blocked easily by sealant. If sealant has hardened inside the valve stem itself, replacing the core will not solve the restriction. Preventing Future Valve Problems
Good valve habits reduce leaks and make later maintenance easier. Always attach the pump head straight, avoid pressing the valve pin unnecessarily, and use a cap to keep dust away from the opening. When adding sealant through the valve, place the stem at the top of the wheel before removing the core.
